I saw Astro back in the days but was never interested in animes back then but I have seen some remakes of it I saw a rather extreme remake of it and it made me really look at the possible potentials of Astro Boy it was a really out there remake the little one was basically unstoppable when he focuses on something usually when others were in danger. An imitation of Astro Boy for persons who may not know the old school character was "Rusty" from the anime "Big Guy & Rusty The Robot" I think they may really tone it down or "kiddiefy" as "Jamaipanese" so delicately stated it but I guess only time will tell I don't have anything against "The Incredibles" but I'm not a fan either.

Astro Boy (The Mighty Atom in Japan) was originally a 1952 manga by Osamu Tezuka, the story became a long running TV series and inspired Walt Disney and other Hollywood legends to hire Japanese animators for the cartoons we are familiar with today. Osamu Tezuka is often called the father of manga, and he is literally responsible for genres of art and film that last until today.

The Astro Boy story is often reworked into modern manga and anime as cameo or sub plot.
