Dragon Ball Kai is the remastering in Hi Definition of an anime cult classic Dragon Ball Z done for the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the series. From April 1989 to January 1996 and long afterward Dragon Ball Z captivated audiences and became an anime classic. Personally I have a special relationship and love for Dragonball Z and remember going crazy for it as it was one of the first anime programs I was exposed to as a young teenager.

Goku is back in HD goodness
I don’t think you should be reading this if you don’t have the slightest idea what Dragon Ball Z was about, never seen the pointy haired guy above or have no idea what a kamehameha is – but being the nice blogger that I am I will describe the plot of Dragon Ball Z and by extension the remastered Dragon Ball Kai in the process by using only one sentence. “The earth is threatened by super powerful rampaging aliens and it’s up to Goku and his friends to defend the planet from their menace”. Sounds basic huh? But that is it’s appeal, an ordinary family man thrust into battle against insurmountable odds who fights to achieve victory. Very cliche but a story you can’t help but be interested in.

Master Frieza – Move over Vader he gets my vote for the baddest badass in the galaxy
Most of the feedback I have read so far related to Dragon Ball Kai has been negative but for me I look forward to watching the entire 100 episodes of DB Kai while reminiscing on the early days of my anime obsession and look out for my favourite scenes and my favourite characters.
