Unofficially the JLP are victorious

The JLP has won, it’s still “unofficial” but from the estimates, debates, media and minds of the people I know it’s a JLP victory. The outgoing Prime Minister and Peoples National Party President Portia Simpson-Miller has lost to the the Bruce Golding led Jamaica Labour Party although she still has been reluctant to accept defeat, ooh well I wonder if she will remain as one of the top 100 most powerful women in the world.

Unlike regular commentors and fellow Jamaican bloggers Bobby and Jamaican Girl I am quite the youngster and although I was born when the JLP was last in power I have only known PNP rule which has been uninterrupted for the past 18 years. Lets see what the JLP can do because I have decided that next time around I will be exercising my right to vote and accepting my role as a Jamaican.

  1. Good to hear you say that just shut yuh eye and vote if that is what you have to do but vote.

What Portia said in response to the results is … is just so …. wrong!!!!!

  2. Hmmm, see why i luv politics now. So exciting and stomach wrenching. I was up all day and night watching the unfolding from here in SA.
I didn’t really like the PM’s reaction but I guess it is also understandable.
Maybe in future, there should be only formal announcements when results are official.
So it seems the JLP are back. Hopefully, we will all just get back to work and fulfill our pledge to make Jamaica triumphant, proud and free!
