Jamaipanese.com is two years old today!
I can’t believe it’s been two years since my first post on this blog and it seems only a month or two ago I made my 1st anniversary post. It’s now two years and it’s not until I started running through the statistics for the past year to have information for this post that I realized how much my blog has grown over the past year. Let me start first by thanking all the regular visitors to my blog over the past year because without you I wouldn’t have been able to continue blogging.
Stats and Figures for the past year
In my first year of blogging on Jamaipanese.com I made 77 posts but it the second year I made an unbelievable 296 entries which calculates to 5-6 posts per week. I am happy that I blog about topics of interest to me so updating my site never feels like a chore. It seems the more I posted the more the visitors came and my blog exploded in late June and has grown every month since.
According to Google analytics I welcomed just over 60,000 visitors from February 1st 2007 to February 1st 2008 and these visitors looked at over 100,000 pages. The awstats figures are over double that of Google Analytics but I prefer to quote those figures. Anime related posts were golden this year and accounted for almost 40% of my traffic so look for more anime goodness this year.
Plans for this year
I really don’t know how I will top the past year but I sure will try. I am planning to streamline my posts on certain topics, make more posts about studying Japanese and I have one big monthly feature coming within the next few weeks that has been on the drawing board for months and keeps evolving into something bigger.
