Faster and cheaper Internet is always welcome. They sure do need it. Using the Internet in Thailand, China, and South Korea is way cheaper than Japan for pretty much the same service. They are realizing that they have to reduce those prices and get faster if they want to compete.

Japan does have great Internet services, but I’m hoping this is the first step to providing free, nation-wide WiFi access.
