I didn't know my blood type until I came to Japan. Everyone I met would ask me what I was and I got sick of saying that I didn't know, so I went to a clinic and got my blood checked for $30.

I don't know if it was worth it or not, but at least now I can answer the question!

Well, a paladin is a type of warrior. I liked using monk in D&D when I was still playing RPG.

That's very brave of you to overcome your fear of needles... and more importantly, to donate blood and save another person's life. I've always wanted to donate blood but I'm tad bit underweight (around 2~3kg below the ideal BMI). I tried to convince the nurses that I won't die of shock or anything if I donate blood just because I'm 3000 grams lighter, but they refused :/ meh, that sucked. Luckily I'm an O positive, which means there's probably more blood type like this in the freezers. Whew.

Oh, thanks for verifying the truth! When my cousin returned from Japan and told us that Japanese treat blood type as royally as how Westerners treat horoscopes, we laughed and chuckled in disbelief... until I read this entry. I'm so going to forward this to my other cousins!

" I try to remain cool plus there is something about an attractive young nurse smiling and asking “are you comfortable Mr Brown?” "

I never get the hot nurse.... :(

I've always wondered about the deal with blood types in Japan, thanks for sharing!
